About Tuya, Girl
Hi,
I’m Darby, a traveling hairstylist based in Colorado. TUYA, Girl is my love letter to the women who have sat in my chair asking how to save their hair.
This journey began in my childhood, mixing botanicals into little hair potions. After 15 years in the beauty industry—including a stint as creative director and styling prominent clients—I felt completely burned out. Seeking renewal, I set off on a seven-month solo journey through Latin America. When I came back, I noticed something: adventurous women like me were struggling with dry, brittle hair and had no idea where to start. The salon-quality products I used on my clients were packed with ingredients that weren’t great for our health and offered beautiful but temporary results.
So, I created TUYA, Girl—For the ones lost in the beauty aisle, frustrated by the lack of clean, salon-quality products that match their lifestyle. Designed for women who move through the world boldly, I developed a clean, high-performance formula crafted to nourish and protect your hair, whether combating sun exposure during your escapades or safeguarding against toxins that could harm the environment. Whether you're sun-soaked and catching waves, traveling and exploring a new place, hitting the slopes or chasing after little ones, TUYA, Girl is here to protect and nourish your hair without slowing you down. Inspired by the places we love to explore, our clean, high-performance products keep your hair healthy, vibrant, and ready for your next adventure.
TUYA stands for Take Up Your Adventure and also means “yours” in Spanish—because your journey, beauty, and confidence belong to you. Infused with Colorado wildflowers and desert botanicals our products bring the essence of travel into every rich drop, delivering salon-quality results without compromise.
Wherever your adventures take you, TUYA, Girl ensures your hair stays as radiant and resilient as you are.
This is an invitation from your friend and stylist to embrace the adventure that’s been calling your name.
Cheers, TUYA, Girl!
